THE CSA 2011 SONGWRITING
RETREAT
Conducted by Bill Pere, based on his
popular "Songcrafters Coloring Book: The Essential Guide to
Effective and Successful Songwriting"
|
|
"Life-Changing!"

-->
The retreat was a great if not life changing experience that gives a
little ole songwriter like myself hope by
providing a lot of knowledge and awareness that the music industry
isn't so one-sided and worth the effort
to pursue. I'll keep you posted as I progress. Thank you -- John Pytel,
Wethersfield CT
--> My
experience at the writer's retreat went far beyond my expectations!
There are more skills involved in the
craft of songwriting than I ever imagined, and Bill's presentation of them
was thorough and clear. He walked us
through the songwriting process from idea-generation through publication
with an ease that can only come from
years of experience. I was impressed by his mastery of the subject and
his ability to quickly get a group
working together. I worked hard and had a great time. I left the
retreat with tools to get myself 'unstuck' in my
songwriting. I'm looking forward to next year's retreat! -- David
Yaeger, Singer/Songwriter , Plymouth, MA
-->
I had pretty high expectations and you exceeded them. It was most
impressive and I gained a great deal of
knowledge which I will put to good use going forward. For anyone
entertaining the idea of writing songs
for publication, you owe it to yourself to sign up for this retreat.
Song construction is discussed in detail along
with the tools to use to craft a quality product. This knowledge is
not found in any college curriculum and is only available at the retreat and
in Bill's
Songcrafters' Coloring Book - The Essential Guide to Effective and
Successful Songwriting which is the basis for the material
presented. All aspects of song creation are covered from
inception through manufacturing to publishing and distribution. The focus
however, is on song creation and the tools and intricacies of
the craft.
I've read other books on songwriting and have looked at
other courses. This is the only course and book combination I have found
which actually gives you the tools, and educates you on how to create your
own rubric to craft and measure your song. With this information, you will
be able to understand whether or not you have covered all the bases to
create a well crafted product.
The facilities and food were great, the price is a good
value, and the presentation, material, and experience were exceptional. I
highly recommend it. Thanks for a great experience.
-- Joe Gaudette, singer-songwriter, CT
I just wanted to say that I had a great time
at the retreat. It was a nice opportunity to meet creative,
like-minded people and share what we all love - music. The critiques
were invaluable and gave me direction into what style of music I would do
best in. Thank you. -- Laura Stroebel. singer-songwriter, E.
